The Necessity for TV Wall Mounts

A 100-inch TV is a significant investment, and its installation should be handled with the utmost care. Choosing to go with a TV wall mount not only optimizes your viewing experience but also saves valuable floor space, making it a popular choice among homeowners.

The importance of correct, secure installation

When it comes to wall-mounting such a large and expensive device, precision and security are non-negotiable. An improperly secured TV can lead to an unfortunate accident, potentially damaging your TV or causing injury. This makes the process of TV wall mount installation for a 100-inch TV a task that requires careful attention to detail.

Moreover, a correctly mounted TV can greatly enhance your viewing experience. It allows for optimal viewing angles, reduces glare, and contributes to a cleaner, more organized living space.

A brief on various wall mount options

There are several types of TV wall mounts available. The best TV wall mount for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. Fixed mounts are a common choice for their simplicity and low profile, but they offer no flexibility in terms of viewing angles. Tilting mounts allow for vertical adjustment, which can help to reduce glare. Full-motion or articulating mounts offer the most flexibility, with the ability to tilt and swivel the TV for the best viewing angle.

Steps for TV Wall Mount Installation

Gathering essential tools and equipment

Before you begin the installation process, ensure you have all the necessary tools on hand. This may include a drill, a stud finder, a level, a screwdriver, and of course, your chosen TV mount.

Choosing the right location

The location for your TV should be chosen carefully. Consider factors like viewing distance, screen height, and the angle from your most frequently used viewing position. Also, take note of light sources in the room to avoid glare on the screen.

Marking and drilling holes

Once you’ve chosen the perfect spot, use a stud finder to locate the studs in your wall. These will provide the most secure anchor for your TV mount. Mark the stud locations and where you’ll need to drill holes for the mount.

Attaching brackets

Next, attach the mounting brackets to the back of your TV. Make sure they are secured tightly and aligned correctly.

Hanging the TV

Finally, with the help of another person, lift your TV and hook the brackets onto the wall mount. Ensure the TV is level and securely attached to the mount.

While these steps provide a basic guide to wall mount installation, the process can be quite complex, especially for larger TVs. That’s where professional TV installation services like GTA TV Wall Mounting in Toronto come in. Questions we get asked

100-Inch TV Installation Questions

The questions we get asked most on this one. If yours isn’t here, just ask us.

How much does it cost to wall mount a 100-inch TV in Toronto?

TVs above 75 inches start at $200 and we quote the exact figure once we know what the wall is made of. At 100 inches the wall matters more than the screen does, so send a photo of it along with the model and we will come back with a firm price rather than a range.

Can a 100-inch TV be mounted on a normal drywall wall?

Only if there is real structure behind it. A screen that size has to land on studs, solid concrete or proper backing, never on drywall anchors. Where the studs do not fall where you want the TV, we use a bracket whose plate spans two of them, or we tell you the nearest position that will genuinely carry the weight.

Do I need a special bracket for a 100-inch screen?

Yes. The bracket has to be rated for the actual weight of your set and match its VESA pattern, which on screens this size is usually well beyond what a general-purpose mount covers. We check both before anything is drilled, and we will say so plainly if a bracket you already own is not up to it.

Should a 100-inch TV be fixed or full motion?

Most go fixed or tilt. A screen that large rarely needs to swivel, and every inch a full-motion arm extends multiplies the leverage on the wall. If you do want movement, our double-arm full-motion mount handles 37 to 90 inch sets up to 65kg, so above that we plan the fixing around the specific model.

How high should a 100-inch TV be mounted?

Lower than people expect. On a screen this size the middle of the picture wants to sit close to your seated eye level, which usually means the bottom edge is not far above the furniture. We sit where you sit before marking anything, because getting this wrong on a 100-inch panel is very hard to live with.

Can you hide the cables for a 100-inch TV?

Yes. In-wall concealment starts at $79.99 on regular drywall, with the HDMI and low-voltage cables dropped inside the wall and plates at both ends. A standard power cord is not rated to sit inside a wall, so we either fit an in-wall-rated power kit or run a paintable raceway.
