Does Concrete Change How a Frame TV Sits?
In a house, a slightly proud mount is an easy fix later. In a concrete condo, redoing an anchor point isn’t something you want to attempt twice, so the Frame’s flush look has to be right from the first hole.

Concrete doesn’t forgive a second attempt
Repositioning a bracket on drywall means patching and re-drilling a few inches over; on concrete, moving an anchor point means a new hole in the actual structure. We take extra time levelling and measuring before the first hole goes in, because there isn’t a casual second try.

Condo units often have less depth around the TV wall than a house does — less room for a stack of boxes and cables. Because every input runs through the small One Connect box, it can sit in a media unit across the room instead, which matters more here than it would in a detached home.

Mounting a 65-Inch TV or Larger
Anything from around 65 inches up is easier with a second pair of hands, so the installer will usually ask you to help lift the screen onto the bracket. That takes a few seconds and it means there’s no second-technician charge on your invoice. The bracket hardware itself has plenty of weight margin past 65 inches, concrete anchors included, so screen size on its own is rarely what limits a Pickering installation.

What moves the number is the size of the screen, what the wall is made of, and where the TV needs to sit. Marble, stone, under-cabinet and above-fireplace jobs take longer and need different anchors, so we quote those directly.

Bay Ridges to Claremont in half an hour
Bay Ridges and West Shore sit down by the lake and have been there longest. Amberlea and Rougemount came later. Duffin Heights is newer again, and out past the highway Claremont and Brougham are still hamlets. Not many towns cover that much ground in one name.
A booking down by the lake and a booking out past the highway can both be labelled "Pickering" and still have almost nothing in common behind the drywall.

The wall assessment is not a formality on a mixed housing stock. What is behind the finish differs between a duplex conversion, a townhouse party wall and a concrete tower, and those three can sit within a few streets of each other here.
A reading that would be a safe assumption in a single-era subdivision elsewhere just isn’t reliable on a street like this, so the physical check happens every time, not only when something looks unusual.

Most Pickering homes are detached, and on those the usual questions apply: real structure to fix to, a height that suits where you sit, and a cable route that leaves nothing showing.
It’s the straightforward end of the spread, and the reason the mixed housing stock doesn’t translate into a mixed level of difficulty — most jobs here are still a standard install once the wall’s confirmed.

Established and newer housing
Pickering covers a fair spread of housing ages, and the vintage tells you most of what matters. Newer builds are drywall over wood or engineered framing and take cable inside the wall without trouble.
Established homes are more variable. Framing may not follow modern spacing, and a wall that's been renovated can hide strapping or a patched opening. We scan and then verify by hand rather than trusting the first reading.
A previous renovation is the detail most likely to catch a scanner out, since strapping added during a reno can read as a stud when it isn't one.

Condo units and shared buildings
Units near the city centre typically have concrete perimeter walls. That's the most secure surface to mount to, and it means masonry anchors rather than stud work.
The building side takes the time: many require a contractor's certificate of insurance on file before work starts, and often a booked service elevator. Cable can't be buried in concrete, so a painted channel handles the run.
Booking the elevator ahead of time is worth doing early — buildings often need a few days' notice, and it's the one step in a condo job that isn't ours to control.

North of the built-up areas
North of the built-up areas the properties change again — larger rooms, occasional stone or masonry fireplace surrounds, and outbuildings or shops that need a screen mounted somewhere practical.
Masonry is entirely mountable with a hammer drill and the right anchors. Feature walls and built-in cabinetry mostly need the bracket planned around the joinery, and the cable route settled before anything is opened up.
Larger rooms out this way also mean the seating distance is often greater, which is worth mentioning alongside the wall type when you book.

The extra step is usually the building itself: proof of insurance on file and sometimes a booked service elevator.
Does my building need paperwork before you can start?
