One visit, start to finish. We work 9:00am to 8:00pm and can usually be with you the next day.

First, we look at the wall
Before any drilling starts, the installer checks what the wall is actually made of and what’s likely running behind it, then works out the height with you standing in the room. That’s a decision that outlasts the appointment, so it gets made together rather than eyeballed from the hallway.

Bracket, screen, level
Once the wall is sorted, the bracket goes on, the TV goes up, and it’s levelled with a proper tool rather than judged by eye. Cables get connected and we run the picture and sound before calling it finished, so any issue shows up while we’re still there.

Where Should a Soundbar Actually Go?
A soundbar sounds better mounted with intention than balanced on a shelf below the TV. Here’s what we check before it goes on the wall.

Wall or TV bracket?
Most soundbars mount straight to the wall just under the screen on their own bracket, which keeps the TV mount carrying only the TV’s weight. If your TV bracket has a soundbar shelf built in, we’ll use that instead — either way, the goal is a fixed, level line under the picture.

Spacing that doesn’t choke the sound
Too close to the screen and the soundbar can rattle against the TV or block the lower bezel; too far below and the sound separates from the picture. We aim for a gap that’s tight enough to look intentional and wide enough that nothing touches.

Keeping the remote’s eye clear
The TV’s infrared sensor usually sits behind the bottom bezel, and a soundbar mounted too high or too far forward can block it. We test the remote from your actual seating position before calling the job finished, not just from standing in front of the wall.

What a Townhouse Layout Actually Changes
The party wall gets most of the attention, but a lot of what makes an Ajax townhouse job different comes down to the shape it sits in, not just what’s inside the drywall.

Narrower rooms mean fewer real options
A typical townhouse living room gives you one or two walls that actually work for a TV, not four to choose from. Furniture placement is usually already decided by the floor plan, so the height often has to work around a doorway or a stairwell opening rather than a blank wall.

Does the Room Have One Sightline or Two?
Ajax homes range from a straightforward single living room to an open-concept main floor with a kitchen island in view of the TV as well — and that difference decides the bracket more than the wall does.

Anything from around 65 inches up is easier with a second pair of hands, so the installer will usually ask you to help lift the screen onto the bracket. That takes a few seconds and it means there’s no second-technician charge on your invoice. The handling risk is really the deciding factor at that size — a panel over 80 inches is awkward for one person to steady once it clears the packaging, no matter how sound the wall or bracket is.

What moves the number is the size of the screen, what the wall is made of, and where the TV needs to sit. Marble, stone, under-cabinet and above-fireplace jobs take longer and need different anchors, so we quote those directly.

Basements and Party Walls: Ajax’s Two Real Variables

My TV is going on a wall shared with the neighbour — does that change anything?
It can. A party wall between semis or townhouses might be block, brick, or two stud walls back to back, and each one takes a different anchor. We'd rather find out what's actually there before the first hole goes in than discover it halfway through.
The basement is finished — how do you know what's behind the drywall?
We don't guess. A finished basement can be a framed wall built out from poured concrete, or drywall straight onto block, and both look identical once painted. A quick knock-and-probe test settles it, and the anchor choice follows from that answer.
Can the cable disappear into the wall?
In a wood-framed wall, yes — the cable drops inside and exits near the outlet behind your media unit. Concrete or block walls in a basement won't take an in-wall run, so we use a slim channel that gets painted to match instead.
Will you install a Samsung Frame TV?
Yes, and it's a different job to a regular flat panel. The Frame is meant to sit almost against the wall, so the bracket has to be right first time, and we route the One Connect cable before drilling so it doesn't end up as an afterthought.
Is mounting above a fireplace ever a bad idea?
Sometimes, yes, and we'll say so. The wrong spot puts the screen too high to watch comfortably, or too close to real heat. We check what's behind the surround, how the mantel sits, and where your eyeline actually lands before agreeing to the height.
Do I need to buy my own bracket?
