What it is

Why Mount the TV and Soundbar in the Same Visit

Two separate bookings mean two visits, two cable plans, and a bar levelled against a screen that is already up rather than planned alongside it.

A TV install and a soundbar install are two separate jobs if you book them separately. Doing both together means one technician works out the bracket, the bar position and the cable route as a single problem, then opens the wall once instead of twice.

It also tends to cost less. Soundbar mounting is cheaper booked with the TV install than as a stand-alone visit, because the site visit, the stud-finding and the cable planning are already covered by the TV job.

Getting it right

Getting the Soundbar Aligned With the Screen

Wall-mounted directly below the TV is the most common position, and usually the best-sounding one, since most bars are voiced to fire forward from just under the screen. The gap between bar and TV gets set deliberately — tight enough to read as one unit, wide enough to clear the remote sensor and the screen’s bottom bezel.

Other options exist — above the screen, bracketed straight to the TV or its mount so the two travel together on a full-motion arm, or on a shelf where mounting is not the right call — and the full breakdown of soundbar mounting options covers all of them.

The details

One Cable Plan, One Visit

A soundbar needs HDMI eARC or optical back to the source, and power of its own, on top of whatever the TV already needs.

The cable plan

Planned together, both runs go in at the same time, through the same opening, with the same finish — a paintable raceway on concrete, or dropped inside the cavity on drywall, the same wire concealment work we do for TVs alone. Planned separately, the soundbar cable is usually the one left running down the wall in plain sight, because the TV install already closed up the opening it would have used.

What the combined install covers

  • Bracket sized to the TV’s VESA pattern and weight
  • Fixed into studs, blocking or masonry depending on the wall
  • Soundbar positioned and levelled against the screen
  • Cable for both run through one opening and concealed
  • Every input tested — picture and sound — before we pack up

Questions we get asked

Frequently Asked Questions

If yours isn’t here, just ask us.

Can any TV be wall mounted?

Most flat-screen TVs are designed for wall mounting, though the specific mounting instructions vary by model, so it is worth checking the TV's manual for its VESA pattern and weight.

Is it safe to mount a TV and soundbar on the wall myself?

It can be done, but most people call a professional because the bracket has to go into real structure, not just drywall, and getting that wrong is how TVs end up on the floor. We bring the experience and the right anchors for the wall in front of us.

Should the soundbar attach to the TV or go straight on the wall?

Either works. Attached to the TV or its mount, the bar travels with the screen on a full-motion arm and only one set of holes goes in the wall. Fixed to the wall on its own, it stays put even if the TV moves. We check the bracket compatibility and the mount's rated weight before deciding which.

Is it cheaper to book the TV and soundbar together?

Usually, yes. One visit means one cable plan for both, instead of opening the wall twice. Ask for the combined price when you book.
